CHICAGO (WLS) -- Illinois has been without a budget for 11 months and when the General Assembly session ended Tuesday night, there was no deal for the new fiscal year which begins July 1.

Governor Bruce Rauner called the session "a stunning failure." There are dire predictions for what's ahead. Chicago Public Schools CEO Forrest Claypool said CPS and possibly other districts won't be able to open in the fall without state funding.

So what's next? What will lawmakers do to try to resolve this months' long impasse? Talking about that and more are Democratic State Representative Christian Mitchell of Chicago and Republican State Senator Matt Murphy of Palatine.
