Michael McKee, a 39-year-old Lincoln Park resident, allegedly killed his ex-wife, Monique Tepe, and her dentist husband, Spencer Tepe, in Columbus over the holidays.
The couple was found shot to death in their home on Dec. 30. Their two children were found safe inside the home.
Court documents show that McKee was identified using surveillance footage from the neighborhood.
The murders led investigators across several states and made national headlines, but authorities ultimately tracked McKee down and arrested him in Rockford on Saturday. It's unclear what McKee, who works as a vascular surgeon, was doing there.
A grand jury in Franklin County, Ohio returned an indictment against McKee on Friday. He is charged with two counts of Aggravated Murder and one count of Aggravated Burglary.
All counts include a three-year firearm specification for using a gun to commit Aggravated Murder and a six-year firearm specification for using a firearm suppressor.
