Holly will serve as the police department's new therapy dog.
"It was important to us that we not only continue our Therapy Dog program, but grow and enhance it," said Mayor Jim Dodge. "We're proud of the Orland Park Police Department for continuing to set the standard for compassionate, community-centered policing."
She was introduced on Monday night's Village Board meeting.
Holly will provide emotional support and comfort both to crime victims and department personnel following traumatic incidents.
The dog has completed basic obedience training and will receive advanced instruction from a K9 specialist.
She will be handled by Officer Przislicki.
