Police said the robbery happened at about 3:24 a.m. in the 200-Block of Concord Drive South, Oswego police said.
The victim told police he was in his car when a suspect approached and robbed him at gunpoint.
Oswego police said the victim got a firearm from his house, shot at the suspects, and chased after them.
The victim allegedly chased after the robbers northbound on Orchard Road until both vehicles crashed near Orchard Road and Highway I-88.
Two suspects ran away, one of them was found by Kane County Sheriff's deputies.
Timothy Rodgers, 22, was charged with armed robbery and armed violence. He is due in court on Monday.
