PADS of Elgin raising money to keep doors open

ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- A suburban homeless shelter is trying desperately to raise money and keep the doors open.

Every year, PADS of Elgin gives hundreds of families and individuals a safe place to go for the night. They recently showed off the renovated shelter.



Katie Shaw Thompson, the executive director at PADS in Elgin, joined ABC7 to talk about a situation the shelter is now in.

Thompson talked about the financial challenges they face and why their work matters.
