The dogs, all young males, arrived Saturday afternoon after spending their lives in wire cages.
PAWS said the dogs were surrendered by Ridglan Farms, a dog breeding and biomedical research facility in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin.
Ridglan Famrs agreed to surrender its state breeding license effective July 1 to avoid criminal prosecution for civil animal cruelty violations, according to the State of Wisconsin Circuit Court.
Now, PAWS Chicago veterinarians will evaluate the dogs and when ready, they'll go to foster homes.
