CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man charged in a bar fight that critically injured another patron has been released with conditions ahead of his tral.

Pedram Sadeghi, 24, of Mequon, Wisconsin, was arrested Saturday night and charged for allegedly breaking a glass on a 27-year-old man's face and causing critical injuries at Butch McGuire's bar at State and Division.

In court Tuesday, prosecutors said shards from that broken glass caused cuts to victim's face and severe his jugular vein, which required surgery.

Prosecutors asked for Sadeghi to be detained, but it was denied. Attorneys for Sadeghi said he is a full-time student. He has been released on the conditions he does not have any director or indirect contact with the victim or witnesses, that he stays away from Butch McGuire's, and that he does not enter any bar establishments.

Sadeghi is facing one felony count for aggravated battery. He is due back in court on October 28.
