Passenger dies on flight from Chicago's Midway Airport to Mexico, airline says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A passenger died on a flight from Chicago to Mexico over the weekend, the airline said in a statement.

It happened on Volaris flight 7771, which was heading from Chicago Midway International Airport to Michoacan, on Saturday.



The airline said the passenger experienced a medical emergency, and the pilot made an emergency landing at Monterrey International Airport.

Medical personnel pronounced the passenger dead at the airport. Their identity was not immediately released.



The plane was replaced to transport the other passengers to their destination, the airline said.
