WOODSTOCK, Ill. (WLS) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a UP-Northwest Metra train two miles from the Woodstock station Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The No. 646 train from Harvard hit the pedestrian around 2 p.m., Metra said. The train was scheduled to arrive in the city at 3:23 p.m.

The train remains stopped at the scene and outbound train No. 619 is sitting at the station south of the accident.
No additional details about the pedestrian have been released.

The incident may affect rush hour for passengers going to Harvard, but Metra officials said they are hoping to have trains moving soon.
