A pedestrian was struck by Metra UP-NW train #627 near Clybourn, Metra said.
Inbound and outbound trains were temporarily halted for the investigation.
Just before 2 p.m. Metra said UPN train #334 scheduled to arrive Chicago at 12:50 pm was back on the move with extensive delays.
No other information was immediately available.
Police have not released any information on the incident.
