Police: Man safe after threatening to jump from building in South Loop

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police responded to an apartment building in the South Loop Thursday because a man was threatening to jump from the building.

Police, Chicago fire fighters, and SWAT members were at the scene in the 1700-block of South Michigan Avenue for several hours. The man eventually went back into his apartment safely.

South Michigan Avenue was closed between 16th Street and 18th Street due to the police activity. Roads are reopening.
