Man shot in the head, critically injured while getting out of truck in Pullman: police

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man is in critical condition after being shot in the head while getting out of his truck on the city's South Side on Thursday night, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened near East 103rd Street and South Cottage Grove Avenue in the Pullman neighborhood just after 9 p.m.



An unknown suspect approached the 29-year-old man, took out a gun, and fired shots, police said.

The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.



No other injuries were reported.

Area Two detectives are investigating. Officials did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
