CHICAGO (WLS) -- The City of Chicago has nearly doubled the number of red light camera tickets for review to determine if those motorists will get $100 refunds for red light citations.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel's administration is now reviewing 16,000 red light camera tickets, up from the original 9,000.
A recent Chicago Tribune investigation showed an unexplained spike in red light tickets at 119th and Halsted streets.
Demonstrators protested at that South Side intersection last weekend.
