Chicago police have not said what motivated the attack where two gunmen pulled up and opened fire on group of people, leaving three people dead and another person critically wounded.
It happened just before 5 p.m. Friday near North Pulaski Road and West Maypole Avenue.
Witnesses told police that four people were standing on the sidewalk when a car pulled up and at least two armed people opened fire on the group, killing a 32-year-old woman, a 36-year-old man and another male victim, whose age was not immediately known.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as Rickia Williams, of Chicago.
One woman said her cousin was one of the victims.
A fourth victim, a 35-year-old man, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The investigation into the brazen daytime shooting continues on Saturday.
