Serious crash impacting Route 83 traffic in Addison

ADDISON, Ill. (WLS) -- A serious crash is impacting traffic in the west suburbs on Friday morning.

The multi-vehicle crash happened on southbound Route 83, about a half mile north of Interstate 290, in Addison.



Southbound lanes are shut down at 3rd Avenue. Officials did not immediately say whether anyone was injured or what led up to the crash.

ABC7 cameras captured a damaged SUV and authorities directing traffic.
