Shooter fires at home of Indianapolis city-county councilor, leaves note reading 'no data centers'

INDIANAPOLIS (WLS) -- Someone fired shots at the home an elected official in Indianapolis days after officials approved a data center in his district.

The FBI is assisting local police investigating a targeted shooting at the home of City-County Councilor Ron Gibson.



More than one dozen shots were fired into the front door on Monday morning, with a note left behind reading "no data centers." Gibson has backed a controversial data center proposal.

The attack was addressed during a city-county council meeting on Monday night.



Metrobloks, the company behind the data center project, called the violence unacceptable.
