Show of support for Chicago State planned at churches across city next Sunday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A show of support is planned for Chicago State University at churches across the city next week.

Congressman Danny Davis is encouraging faith-based community leaders, educators and other volunteers to promote the South Side university for what he's calling, "Chicago State University Day."

Next Sunday, 200 churches will discuss saving the school during services.

Chicago State nearly shut down last semester because of financial issues brought on by the state budget crisis.
