The fire happened at Gross Point Rd and Old Orchard.
Chopper 7 was over the scene at about 6 a.m.
Video shows firefighters extinguish the car fire within minutes.
Skokie police said no injuries were reported.
The Evanston Fire Department assisted Skokie.
Police added that there was no crash and the fire resulted from an apparent mechanical issue.
