CHICAGO (WLS) --
The family of slain Chicago school teacher Dr. Betty Howard is increasing the reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

"I miss her as a wife, I miss her as a friend, I miss her as a teacher who cared for her students. I miss her totally," said Major Howard, husband.

Howard was caught in gang crossfire last week in the 700 block of East 79th Street.

Her family announced that concerned citizens have donated enough money to raise the reward to $7,000.
