South Side gas station damaged in attempted crash-and-grab, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A gas station was damaged in an attempted crash-and-grab Thursday morning, Chicago police said.

The incident occurred at about 4:09 a.m. in the 8600-block of South Jeffery Boulevard.



Police said the suspects used a black SUV to hit the gas station.

The suspects then entered the gas station, but were not able to take anything, police said.



The suspects fled in an unknown direction and left the SUV at the scene, police said.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
