State Street Bridge in Loop to close daily for hours each day until Thursday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The State Street Bridge will close for several hours each day from Monday through Thursday this week, the Chicago Department of Transportation said.

The bridge closures will run from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each day, with no vehicles or pedestrians allowed across.

The closure is for bridge balancing and testing ahead of the fall board run season.

Detours for drivers:

Northbound vehicles: State Street to westbound Wacker Drive, northbound Dearborn Street, eastbound Kinzie Street and back to northbound State Street.



Southbound vehicles: State Street to westbound Kinzie Street, southbound Wells Street, eastbound Washington Street and back to southbound State Street.
