Courtney Voss has had to go through several surgeries to rid her body of the disease.
She said the diagnosis came after she noticed a small freckle on her face.
When her dermatologist took a biopsy, tests revealed it was melanoma.
She then had to get both plastic and facial reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Amy Pittman, a Loyola Medicine facial reconstructive surgeon, joined Voss on ABC7 to promote sunscreen use.
