Thieves crash SUV stolen from Rogers Park repair shop, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Thieves broke into a Rogers Park car repair shop and crashed a stolen SUV Tuesday night, Chicago police said.

The incident occurred at about 11:22 p.m. in the 6800-block of North Clark Street.



Police said four male suspects broke into the shop and stole the red SUV. The thieves damaged a garage door and were involved in a crash involving several other vehicles as they tried to get away, police said.

One suspect was taken into custody while they others got away, police said.



The red SUV struck a gray SUV and a black SUV and two parked vehicles, police said.

A woman driving the black SUV was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in good condition and two women and a man who were passengers were transported to St. Francis Hospital in good condition. The driver of the black SUV declined medical attention.
