Worth residents under boil order after water main break, village says

Updated 3 hours ago
WORTH, Ill. (WLS) -- A boil order is in effect in the south suburban Village of Worth after a water main break on Saturday.

The break happened around 1 a.m., and the boil order was issued at 7:30 a.m., the village said.

Crews made repairs and restored water service. The village said the water is safe for bathing and hand washing but should not be consumed unless it is boiled for at least five minutes first.

Tests are being done regularly to monitor water quality. The village said it would provide an update once the boil order is lifted.

This is a developing story. Check back with ABC7 for updates.
