Pedestrian fatally struck in Wauconda identified, Lake County Sheriff's Office says

WAUCONDA, Ill. (WLS) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed in Wauconda Wednesday night, authorities said.

Lake County Sheriff's deputies responded at about 9 p.m. to Route 12 and Old Rand Road in unincorporated Wauconda and found a 39-year-old man from Arlington Heights critically injured after being hit by a car.



The man did not have a pulse and a deputy performed CPR and the man regained a pulse before being transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, where he later died.

He was later identified as 39-year-old Pablo Campuzano-Reynoso of Arlington Heights by the Lake County Coroner's Office.

The sheriff's office said a Toyota Camry driven by a 68-year-old McHenry man was driving north on Route 12 when the pedestrian was crossing the road.

The sheriff's office said the Camry driver did not see the pedestrian and struck him. The Camry driver was not injured.

Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Team is investigating the crash.
