The Wellness Place is a not-for-profit organization that helps people facing cancer through counseling, support groups, and therapies - all for free. It serves communities in the northwest suburbs of Cook, McHenry, Lake and Kane counties. On May 18, the Wellness Place is inviting you to support its mission at its Fifth Annual Community Cancer Walk and Celebration.
Sr. Director of Marketing for the Wellness Place LeeAnn Atwood and Janis Tolvaysh, a breast/ ovarian cancer survivor who is BRCA positive and a Wellness Place participant, came into our ABC 7 Eyewitness News studio to tell us about the organization and the event. You can still register on Sunday morning.
