West Ridge crash seriously injures 2 Chicago police officers, CPD says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two Chicago police officers were seriously injured early Sunday morning, after another vehicle hit their squad car, CPD said.

A marked CPD squad car was driving north through an intersection in the 6200-block of North Western Avenue in West Ridge just before 3:45 a.m., when a 26-year-old man driving a Toyota sedan ignored a traffic light and hit the squad car, CPD said.



The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital and remains stable.

The two officers were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, CPD said.
