Man charged with injuring 14-year-old in road rage shooting on Kennedy Expressway: ISP

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was arrested for allegedly injuring a teenager in a road rage shooting on the Kennedy Expressway last week, Illinois State Police said.

ISP said 52-year-old Rene Garica of Chicago is facing several charges after he allegedly fired into another vehicle on Interstate 90 near Ogden Avenue on Wednesday around 3:15 p.m. That's near Chicago's West Town neighborhood.



A 14-year-old passenger was hit and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Garica pulled over after the incident, and troopers took him into custody.



Garica has been charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm - Occupied Vehicle, ISP said. He is being held in custody pending his first court appearance.
