White Sox to giveaway 'Pope hats' to all fans at Rate Field game Tuesday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- It's shaping up to be a divine night on Chicago's South Side.



The White Sox take on the Cincinnati Reds in a highly anticipated game honoring fan and Chicago native Pope Leo.

All fans will receive a "Pope hat" which was first announced as a promotion..

Pope Leo XIV is a Chicago native and longtime White Sox fan.



There will be other sacred elements.



The viral mock conclave students from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy will join players for an on-field recognition.

And the beloved organist Nancy Faust will perform during the game.

The ceremonial first pitch by Sister Mary Jo Sobieck of the Dominican Sisters of Springfield.

The "play ball" announcement will be made by former White Sox pitcher Donn "The Pope" Pall.



The ChiTown Popes will also perform at Rate Field Tuesday.
