Well, Caleb Williams delivered. And so, on Tuesday, there's free food in Lincoln Park.
"We're really glad that Caleb threw for four touchdowns. We are Bears fans," said Matthew Jasso, who is in town from Alabama to see a Cubs game.
The restaurant opened up at 11 a.m. with long lines of Bears fans waiting for hot dogs.
"Today was my day off, so let me just do something in the morning. I figure Chicago loves doing lines. I got here about 20 minutes, like around 10:40," said Daniel Albarran.
There is a limit of one hot dog, prepared "Chicago style," per person.
"It's great. It's great. Matter fact, it's my first visit to the establishment, but it won't be my last," said Gene Varnado.
Rewind to last Friday on social media, where a little motivation goes a long way.
"We needed a victory, so we thought we'd try to help motivate Caleb even more and he delivered," The Weiner's Circle co-owner Ari Levy said.
Lincoln Park's beloved hot dog joint posted a message to X, saying, "If Caleb throws 4 touchdowns on Sunday, we will give away free hotdogs on Tuesday."
And, we all know how that turned out. The Bears crushed the Cowboys 31-14.
"Just trying to bring some joy to the community, celebrate the Bears victory, and hopefully this is a start of a bunch of other victories," Levy said.
Levy is the man behind the social media message.
"We thought there was a meaningful chance," Levy said. "They were playing the Cowboys' poorest defense."
S. Rosen's Bakery has provided buns to the hot dog shop for the past 43 years.
"You can't have a hot dog without a bun and he just delivered them all," S. Rosen Bakery sales manager Jim Deere said. "On Sunday, they won, so we jumped on the phone and said, 'How can we be a part? How can we support this initiative?'"
They donated 2,000 extra buns Tuesday to help the cause, all coordinated within the past 24 hours.
"They're on the phone with everyone," S. Rosen's Bakery marketing director Stephanie Powell said. "We're like, OK, we're gonna make this work and it's really exciting to see from the back end how quickly we were able to just turn on a dime and fulfill this what is a large order for a Tuesday."
As for more future giveaways, if Caleb scores more touchdowns?
"Mitch Trubisky had six one time, so... there's room, Caleb," Levy said.
Chicago Bears mascot Staley made a surprise appearance as hope springs eternal for fans who are not only craving another win, but more of the spoils of victory.
The Bears play the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
