CHICAGO (WLS) -- Next week, Chicago will host WNBA All-Star Weekend.

The daughter of longtime ESPN sports anchor Stuart Scott, Sydni Scott, joined "Windy City Weekend" Friday to talk about her father's legacy in sports media and the importance of women in sports analysis.

Next Thursday, Sydni Scott will host Voices of the Game, a networking luncheon and panel presented by the National Association of Black Journalists-Chicago Chapter. Held to celebrate sports broadcasting, the event features prominent industry leaders discussing sports journalism and media.

On Saturday, the Silver Room Sound System Block Party will make its long-awaited return, celebrating the ways fashion, art and community have always connected.

Joining the celebration is a fashion showcase from funkinbeautiful, the creative vision of Terri Stevens, whose work has long been rooted in Chicago's culture and style.

The event is from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Salt Shed.

For Shkunna Stewart, dance is more than a performance, it's a family legacy that spans four generations. As CEO of Bringing Out Talent Dance Company, Stewart carries on a tradition that began with her great-grandmother before being passed down to her grandmother, her mother, and now to her.

Last year, the team earned a third-place finish, competing in the annual Bud Billiken Patrade competition. However, this year, Stewart says her focus has shifted beyond trophies and competition.

Stewart's mother and former CEO of Bringing Out Talent, Sylvia, died last month. Still grieving, Stewart says she is learning how to navigate life without her mother.

This year's Bud Billiken Parade will serve as both a celebration and a tribute, with family members, dancers and supporters coming together to honor Sylvia's memory.

Watch ABC7 Chicago's coverage of the 97th annual Bud Billiken Parade at 10 a.m. Aug. 8.
