The crash occurred at about 10:50 p.m. in the 500-block of North Pulaski Road.
Police said a 58-year-old woman was walking on the side of the road when she was struck by an unidentified driver going southbound on Pulaski Road.
Police said the woman was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition.
Police describe the vehicle as a 2002 maroon GMC SUV, possibly a Yukon XL, with Illinois license plate DR60795. The vehicle has tinted windows throughout and may have damage to the front bumper.
No one is in custody and Area Four detectives are investigating.
