The crash happened just after midnight Sunday in the 6300-block of South Richards Drive, police said.
Police said the driver of a white car crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit a silver car head-on.
A woman, 26, riding in the white car was killed, police said.
The other occupants of the white car, both 25-year-old men, were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Police said one was expected to be OK while the other had critical injuries.
The man driving the the silver car was also seriously injured.
No other information was available.
