Woman killed in South Chicago hit-and-run, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman was killed in a hit-and-run the South Chicago neighborhood Tuesday night, Chicago police said.

The incident occurred at about 10:01 p.n. in the 2100-block of East 83rd Street.



Officers responded and found a 32-year-old woman lying in the street unresponsive, police said.

The woman was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.



The Chicago Police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the incident.
