Woman struck, killed on Near West Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman has died after being hit by a car on the Near West Side Sunday, Chicago police said.

The crash occurred at about 9 p.m. in the 10-100-block of South Ashland Avenue.



Police said the 43-year-old victim was hit as she crossed Ogden Avenue against the traffic signal. She was taken to Stroger Hospital, but died from her injuries, police said.

Police said she was hit by a teenage driver who had the right of way and was not cited.
