The incident happened on Wells Street near Root Street in Fuller Park. Police told ABC7 four people, identified only as male, were shot.
Fire officials said at least two of those shot were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious to critical conditions.
Three CPD officers and two other people were also injured and taken to the same hospital in good condition, CFD said. Police told ABC7 that the injured officers were not struck by gunfire.
COPA said it is responding to the officer-involved shooting.
Officials did not immediately provide further information about the incident.
