SOUTH ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- This week, we feature South Elgin High School on ABC7's Friday Flyover, celebrating high school sports!

School Profile
-South Elgin High School has an enrollment of 2680 and 275 staff members
-Serves the communities of South Elgin, Bartlett, Elgin, Wayne, West Chicago, and Streamwood
-For the 18/19 school year we had 63 Illinois State Scholars, 55 AP Scholars, and administered over 1070 AP exams.
-We offer over 29 sports for boys and girls' athletics.
-We offer over 50 clubs and organizations
-Our student section is called 'Storm Nation'.
-We house the Districts Beacon Magnet Academy

-We house the 5 District Transition programs
-We house a Dual Language Program for students in grades 9/10. We'll add grade 11 next year.

-2014 IHSA 3rd place finisher in Class 4A Baseball
-2017 IHSA 1st place finisher in Boys Lacrosse for class B
-2016 IHSA 3rd place finish in AAA Dance
-Band Marched in the Macys Thanksgiving parade

-Pep band for IHSA state finals in basketball

SEHS Famous Alumni:
-Jake Kumerow (Class of 2010) is a current Green Bay Packer Wide Receiver.
-Ryan Nutof (Class of 2014) is a current AA pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization
-Ryan Weiss (Class of 2015) is a current minor league pitcher for the Kane County Cougars
-Mia Atkins (Class of 2014) host a program called Living Local which broadcasts in Fox 21 in Colorado
-Mario Calero (Class 2013) is a freelance technical director for sports broadcasting.
-Lauren Hope (Class of 2013) is the morning Meteorologist for WNBB in Panama City Florida.
-Matt Hinkle (Class of 2015) and Johnathan Alvarado (Class of 2014) are members in a band called Beach Bunny and played at Lollapalooza this past summer
