SW Michigan wine festival to feature drinks, beach views

The annual Lake Michigan Shore Wine Festival in southwest Michigan will be held Saturday.

On Wednesday, Christina Allis, of Round Barn Winery, stopped by the ABC7 studio to make the winery's red sangria that they will be serving at this weekend's festival, which will be held 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Weko Beach, Mich., just 90 miles from Chicago

Thousands of people from across the Midwest will enjoy countless award-winning Michigan wines, live entertainment and beach views.

The annual event is presented by The Greater Bridgman Area Chamber of Commerce and Growth Alliance, the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail and Traffic PR & Marketing.

Tickets are available only in advance for $20 through noon Friday.

WHITE SANGRIA
Ingredients:

1 bottle Round Barn Pinot Gris
1 bottle Round Barn Weekend White
1 bottle Round Barn Edel Doux
Add fruit frozen or fresh fruit medely of mangos, raspberries, cherries, peaches
Add rum and/or artesia spumante for a kick!
Combine everything in a 1 gallon pitcher, chill and serve!

RED SANGRIA
Ingredients:

2 Bottls red wine
1 bottle Round Barn Farm market Cranberry
1 1/4 cup lemonade
1 1/2 cup fruit juice (apricot, peach, etc.)
If needed, sweeten to taste with table sugar
Combine everything in a 1 gallon pitcher, chill and serve!

SPARKLING SANGRIA
Same as the white sangria, but substitute sparkling wine instead of just white wine.
