Vigil held for Tamara Sword, slain daughter of activist Andrew Holmes

INDIANAPOLIS (WLS) -- A heartbreaking prayer vigil was held Sunday for the family Andrew Holmes after the anti-violence activist lost his daughter this weekend in a shooting in Indianapolis.

Tamara Sword was gunned down Friday night at a gas station. She leaves behind five young children. Her father, who is well known in Chicago for helping crime victims, says he has never felt pain like this before.

"Thirty-two years," said Holmes. "Thirty-two years of joy, 32 years of happiness, something that you, the perpetrators, couldn't take away from me."

After the vigil, friends and family passed out flyers to let people know there's a $16,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
