A former city employee was sentenced Wednesday for trying to solicit a teenager online for sex. Police arrested Terrance Sheahan in September 2002.

The person he had been chatting with online was actually a Westchester police officer. He thought he was meeting a 15-year-old boy.

A judge sentenced Sheahan to 30 months probation.

Sheahan is a former engineer with the city's Department of Environment.
