An increasing number of Americans who go online are watching video there. According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, 48 percent of Web users have visited video-sharing sites like YouTube.

That's up from 33 percent in December of 2006. Men are more likely than women to have used video sharing Web sites.

The group attributes the growth to more people posting video on the Internet and more people telling their friends and co-workers to watch clips found on the Web.
