Snow causes spin-outs, airport delays

A fresh coat of snow created dangerous conditions on some streets and expressways Sunday night. Illinois state police say nearly 40 cars were involved in crashes or spin-outs on area highways in just a four-hour span. Several of those crashes happened on I-80.

One person was killed in a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

The weather meant problems for air travelers as well. About 250 flights were cancelled at O'Hare Airport and fight delays averaged about two hours. Delays averaged about a half hour at Midway Aiport.
