Chicago Public Schools launched a new drop-out prevention plan Monday. A recent study of Chicago Public Schools showed 44-percent of its students drop out by their senior year.

Public school officials admit it's a serious problem. Now they have targeted new programs for this summer and fall.

Chicago Public Schools will host a district-wide orientation day for all incoming freshman. There also will be drop-out prevention coaches on hand in six Chicago high schools.
