Possible vaccine for high blood pressure

A vaccine could one day control your high blood pressure.

The vaccine relaxes blood vessels to lower blood pressure and it could one day replace current blood pressure medications.

Experts say the advantage of the vaccine is that it would only need to be given two or three times a year and should help patients adhere to their medication regimen.

Scientists reporting in the journal The Lancet say they found the vaccine was well tolerated and it did lower blood pressure in hypertensive people. They add, there are currently two problems with high blood pressure drugs: people don't take them, and the drugs do not work well in the morning.

More testing is needed on this possible vaccine.
