Public warned about medical tourism practices

A survey by a British consumer group called 'Which?' finds 18 percent of those who seek medical tourism experienced some problems.

More than a quarter said they did not receive the necessary follow up care and 8 percent were forced to turn elsewhere for emergency help when they got home.

' Which?' urges potential medical tourists to check doctors qualifications and registration with a professional body and to remember that legal rights differ across countries.
