Microsoft may create iPhone-compatible software

Earlier this month, Apple released a beta form of the iPhone SDK, which gives software developers access to the same tools that Apple uses to create programs for the iPhone.

Among the programs Microsoft may develop for the iPhone is its popular office suite, which includes Word and Excel.

A recent iPhone upgrade, allows users to download e-mail from Microsoft's Exchange e-mail server.
