The FBI has temporarily shut down its outdoor shooting range in suburban North Chicago after spent bullet shells and fragments were found in a nearby park. An environmental group says a member found the bullets this week while walking in Foss Park.

The group has filed a lawsuit seeking to permanently shut down the range. They claim lead bullets are landing in Lake Michigan.

A North Chicago park district spokeswoman says the district has never received reports of spent shells at the park.
