3 men who stole $24,000 in beer sought

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. Police in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, say the trio stole $24,000 worth of brew from a trucking company in Racine County.

Authorities say the three pulled up yesterday in semi trucks stolen from a business southwest of Chicago in Will County, Illinois.

They were hooking up to a trailer full of Miller Brewing Company products when they were interrupted. The men fled in one of the trucks stolen from Illinois and a semitrailer belonging to Schneider National.

Police Sergeant Brian Smith says the semitrailer was decorated with Miller advertising and contained the beer. Police now are looking for a white semitrailer with blue lettering reading "Great Taste of a True Pilsner Beer."

(Mount Pleasant is about 60 miles north of Chicago.)
