Center back safest for car seats

A study in the journal Pediatrics finds positioning child safety seats in the center of the back seat could cut an infants and toddler's risk of injury by nearly half. Experts already recommend that parents position car seats in the center but only 28% of children in their study were sitting in that position at the time of the car accident.

l Researchers say children in a centered seat are better protected during a side impact crash. They add the center position is the least popular but it is the safest.
