The officers suffered minor injuries while trying to break up the fight, which involved about 40 inmates. Five inmates were treated at the scene and two were taken to Stroger Hospital. No weapons were used.
The county says the fight took place in a yard outside the jail's maximum security wing. Officials are investigating.
No one has yet been charged.
